Mimi Harwell
Head Trainer
As a junior, Mimi rode on the East Coast A-circuit under the tutelage of Olympian Michael Page. She went on to captain Rice University’s IHSA Hunt Seat team and competed in the 2008 Nationals Cacchione Cup. After graduating in 2009, Mimi moved to the Bay Area, where she worked for Sue Lightner at Lightacres and Joy Parker at Cantus Farm. When Joy retired in 2013, Mimi took the opportunity to found Clean Flight Equestrian. Since then, she has dedicated herself to making Clean Flight Equestrian the best hunter/jumper program in the Bay Area.
Mimi’s training focuses on building up her clients into the greatest riders and horsemen they can be. This is achieved in part by practicing the basics, laying a strong foundation upon which to build more advanced riding techniques. The other part is teaching riders to work with their horses, so that together they can achieve new heights.
Equally important is Mimi’s dedication to the horses. Mimi balances an effective and challenging training regime with compassionate care and attention. The safety and wellbeing of the Clean Flight Equestrian horses is paramount, and clients rest assured that their horses are always in the best hands.
Training is most effective when it is something you want to do, and Mimi has built a program that will keep you wanting to come back to the barn again and again. Mimi emphasizes fun and camaraderie in the barn, in the ring, and at the shows. When you’re at Clean Flight Equestrian, you’re part of a team.
